Thank you to everyone who supported the TerrorBytes!!!
They went to the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) World Championship and ranked 23rd out of 75 teams in the toughest division in history!
There were 11 North Carolina teams competing in eight divisions of the championship. The TerrorBytes ranked at the top for NC. Go TerrorBytes!!!! It was exciting from start to finish!
They worked hard and played hard! There was just enough time to slip out to the City Museum in St.Louis for some unique “playground” fun.
Many of the seniors were able to buy their graduation cords there for FIRST Robotics. They will be proudly displayed as they cross the stage to receive their diplomas.
Please continue to support the TerrorBytes. They will be looking for committed team members once the seniors have left. FIRST provides scholarships to many major colleges and universities. FIRST is much more than robots! The skills gained in the process are lifelong!
Our TerrorBytes Robotics (Team 4561) traveled to Campbell University, where they reached 2nd place of 32 teams during qualification. Additionally, the robotics team went on to participate in the Grand Final Match. During the closing ceremonies, the team won the FRC Industrial Design Award. With an amazing display under its belt, the team will move on to the State Competition at UNC Charlotte April 9-10. Here is a video of the team in action from this year’s competition. Additional videos of the robot can be found on the team YouTube Page.
Saturday, May 21st 6:30 – 8:30 pm.
A special thanks to our sponsors.

Silent Auction Survey
As we grow as a school community we hope to learn along the way. Please help us by filling out this short survey–whether you attended the auction or not.
Student Parking for 2015-2016
We will be holding a lottery this summer for student parking spaces for the upcoming school year.
Please carefully review the RTHS Student Parking Regulations document and then fill out the online Parking Pass Application.
If you do not have access to a computer, hard copies of these documents will be available at the front desk this summer during office hours.
Applications must be submitted by 4:00pm on Friday, July 17th. Students receiving permits will be notified the following week. Students who receive a parking permit are expected to submit their payment for the entire school year and a hardcopy of their driver’s license at the time that they pick up their parking tag. (Student is responsible for making the copy.)
Parking pass pickup will be on the first day of school. More details about a waiting list and additional spaces at the new building are included in the Parking Regulations document. If you have any questions, please email email@example.com.
Silent Auction Summary and Capital Campaign
Our Second Chance Auction has come to an end. We are happy to report that between the Silent Auction and the Second Chance Auction we have raised over $22,000. We thank all those who worked on the Silent Auction Committee and who supported the auction by attending and bidding on items.
We have set as our goal this year for 100 percent parent participation in our capital campaign efforts. Our amazing staff has joined in this cause and have all participated. You can too. If you have not had the opportunity to participate financially thru the auction or the capital campaign yet, we invite you to contribute now. You can do so via the pledge cards sent out or via the school’s website. Every contribution counts.

Teacher End of Year Gifts
We have a tradition at RTHS to show our appreciation to our dedicated teachers, administration, and staff through an end-of-year gift.
While teachers and staff appreciate the coffee mugs, lotions, candles, and other goodies, it can be overwhelming especially for those who have been teaching for many years. Instead, let’s pool our resources and give them the opportunity to buy something special for themselves.
We are collecting money for an end-of-year gift for each staff member … combining all of the parent contributions and distributing them among the staff.
If you would like to participate, you can donate through Paypal here or put your contribution in an envelope and drop it off in the PTSO drop box in the lobby by Wednesday, June 3rd. Checks should be made payable to RTHS PTSO.

Dear RTHS Community,
Our Silent Auction was a huge success. We raised over $15,000 so far. And we can raise more! Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Silent Auction committee and our own staff, we have left over items that did not receive a minimum bid at auction.
Let me highlight a few.
Faculty A La Carte Seven of our faculty chefs have graciously agreed to share their culinary talents. On the evening of Aug 22nd they will each prepare and serve an amazing meal at a volunteer host’s home. This is a can’t miss event!
Basket for Golfers For all the golfers out there, the Boys Basketball team put together a golf basket at an estimated value of over $250.
If you do not find anything you are interested in, you can still support RTHS by making a donation. Please follow this link to make you online donation, or send in the pledge card you should have received. Every dollar counts!
The money we raise from the silent auction and your donations will ensure that Research Triangle High School will be able to fund the costs related to our new building and the operation of our school, including science labs, classrooms, computer and robotics labs, creative spaces, equipment, programs, endowment, reserves and more.
Thank you for your support of RTHS. Go Raptors!
